On a recent visit [March '03] the city seemed more sober as war seemed imminent. Still -- it's New York:) -------------- New York, New York -- it's still there, still vibrant and still crazy...
We arrived Friday night, met our friend and had a GREAT dinner at a Spanish restaurant we just lucked into. On Saturday I took our friend [who had never been to NYC] on a whirlwind tour of the necessities: The Staten Island Ferry, the Empire State Building and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. After that our feet HURT! That evening we ate with a group of mutual friends at La Mangeoire. The next day my husband and I went back to the "Met" and just luxuriated in the museum's riches.
Please enjoy the pictures in the travelogue here. |

BeatChick Mon Sep 5, 2005 18:42 UTC Loved seeing NYC thru your eyes! hee hee NYC is a very Irish town indeed as Mr. Connolly can attest. :) Can't wait to see it myself. | Nemorino Mon Jun 20, 2005 22:43 UTC I suppose if you had leaned out the window to the right you could have seen even more of the Empire State Building (LOL). I went to college in New York, but have only been back rarely since then. | ZanieOR Thu Mar 3, 2005 18:51 UTC Enjoy your tips. Makes me want to go back soon. | matcrazy1 Sat Jan 8, 2005 23:10 UTC Good suggestions for my NYC adventures sooner or later. The sphere that survived the attack on the World Trade Center on display at Battery Park looks touching. |
