| | I spent my childhood is the small town of Fayetteville, which is 11 miles east of Syracuse, NY. It's a beautiful region that includes the Finger Lakes, the remnants of the old Erie Canal, as well as the nearby Lake Ontario and Adirondack State Park. Not a bad place for a child to grow up in! . This picture is of my mother's garden before they moved into a condo just across the street! The wise owl is an old friend:) |
A US president lived here .. Please see the tips for more details and a picture of his house. | | |
| | The Old Fayetteville Post Office Now an oriental rug store -- could have fooled me with the plants:) . The space between the two buildings used to be the site of the infamous "FI" or Fayetteville Inn. It was finally torn down because it was a fire hazard. |

Nemorino Tue Sep 6, 2005 13:02 UTC So this is where you're from. It really looks like hometown America. | BeatChick Mon Sep 5, 2005 18:25 UTC I love reading about your home place, Sally, but how terrifying to have fallen thru the ice! ~And what a “cool” tradition – winter picnics! We had a hill, too, that was treacherous to sled - always had a lookout at the bottom - LOL! | kooka3 Fri Apr 2, 2004 01:18 UTC WOW -- great page! I went to Wellwood and skated at the park, too :) Didn't fall through the ice, though. . . You have some great pics, here. | herzog63 Mon Oct 6, 2003 16:21 UTC So you started school in the "Dark ages" hahaha This page is a wonderful Blast from the Past!! |
