Only 45 minutes from Las Vegas -- this state park is a "don't miss" site. You can combine it with a drive along Lake Mead and back to LV for a nice morning trip! . Take Interstate 15 north to the exit for Valley of Fire State Park. There is a $5 per car fee. They will give you a map. There is a very nice Visitors' Center about halfway though the main park road with informative exhibits, a small gift shop and good bathrooms. There are a lot of covered picnic areas throughout the park and a number of simpler toilet facilities. [check the map when I get it posted] . Be sure to prepare for desert conditions -- wear good walking shoes, sunglasses and a hat and carry drinking water. . http://www.desertusa.com/nvval/ |
