For $15.00 a person you get a gondola ride and a song from your gondolier. For $60 you get the gondola to yourself! The line was long -- reservations are recommended! . I was told that they hire for the voice and teach you how to pole a gondola later :) The gondoliers [both male & female] seemed to be really into the fiction!

When the Mirage first opened the Rainforest was an eyecatching innovation. On a recent visit I dropped by again to see how it was holding up under the competition of the newer themed hotels and the answer is JUST FINE!! . You'll find the Rainforest just inside the hotel's front door -- the dome is 100 feet high and it takes 4 people to maintain the space.

A highlight of a visit to Bellagio are the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. Seasonally themed, the summer show strikes the chords of patriotism and American summer pastimes.

The first thing you see in the summer 2004 display is this young woman holding a bunch of balloons. The long strings emphasize how spacious the conservatory is.

Caesar's Palace is for me the most overblown tasteless hotel-casino etc... in Las Vegas. [And I don't want to think what the other is if you prove me wrong:(] . The statues are certainly not from MY art history textbook -- and they are everywhere, both inside and out! . And you gotta see it!

For my $$$ The Venetian is the best of the "themed" hotels. The detail is stunning both inside and out. Please visit the travelogue to see more. . On the right of the photo-collage are the check-in desk with a map of Vemice and a picture of one of the hotel pools.
