Restaurant Name: Anthony's Fish Grotto
Favorite Dish: This is actually three restaurants on the waterfront just north of the Cruiseship Terminal. . The lower-priced semi fast-food place is Anthony's Fishette and the higher-priced restaurant is Star of the Sea. All have tables with a view of the bay, but I liked those at the Fishette best!

Restaurant Name: Casa de Pico
Casa de Pico have the ideal location -- inside the busy Bazaar El Mundo in Old Town, but more than tired feet are satisfied here. The food and drink are reviving also! . We were in Old Town on the weekend and here, as at other Mexican restaurants, there were wandering musicians to entertain the ear as well. The cheerful umbrellas complete the happy picture!

Restaurant Name: Casa de Pico
Favorite Dish: The margaritas at Casa de Pico are exceptional. The fruit is fresh and they are minus the additives that some places use to make foam or whatever. The picture shows two traditional lime margaritas and a mango-strawberry one. We liked them so much we tried to have another on our second visit to Old Town -- and they were full up!

Restaurant Name: Rancho El Nopal
We couldn't get a seat at Casa de Pico so we settled here. There was music, pleasant servers and REALLY LOUSY MARGARITAS. These are the ones with an additive to make foam or something -- really grim.

Restaurant Name: El Fandango
Casa de Bandini had a 20 minute wait so we tried this restaurant and were not sorry. There are some nightmare reviews on one of the San Diego restaurant sites, but we enjoyed the simple homey setting and found the service more than acceptable.
Favorite Dish: The food wasn't gourmet, but it *was* very tasty. I had a chicken mole enchilada and was very pleased. . It does claim to serve foods that would have been eaten in the early days of Old Town -- and includes some non-Mexican fare on their menu. From their website: . El Fandango is a historically interpretive restaurant reflecting the changing patterns of food preparation in California during the time period of 1846 to 1856, the years of great change in California.
