"Just when you think you understand San Diego -- she shows you another facet."
I posted that after our first trip and it still holds. This time we stayed near Balboa Park because our target was an exhibit at the Mingei Museum. The area was also close to the Episcopal Cathedral, where we were reconnecting with a good friend. We ended up staying on the south edge of the Hillcrest neighborhood and loved it. More to come.

Are there activities for every interest?? Yes.
Is the food good? Yes.
Is the weather super?? Yes.

Would I return?? YES!!!
I was, to be honest, surprised and delighted by the historical & cultural richness of the city -- focusing logically on its Hispanic heritage.
- Pros:The weather, culture, people, food ..
- Cons:Too many gray ships...
- In a nutshell:Visit and be delighted!

Lots of great restaurant-tips ! San Diego does not seem to be a good place for a diet...
Tough to come up with too many cons for San Diego (although it's pricey!!).
Great page with excellent photos! The trolley looks amazing - always thought trolleys need rails and electric power
Too many gray ships? They were in another place (guess where) when I was there a year ago. Could we paint them in other colours?
