Muir Woods National Monument

One of the most beautiful and unique forests in North America. It is mostly silent because the ancient trees and plants that are present in this area do not attract birds and other animals. Primitive is the word.

What a wonderful forest of redwoods! I'll be in San Francisco this June, might visit this area while I'm there...

It's funny, I've never been to Muir Woods! I've seen lots of Redwood Forests in California and done my share of hiking, camping and exploring but I've missed this one.

I've never been to Muir Woods, and didn't realize it was so silent there. Why don't these trees attract birds and other animals? – Greetings from Frankfurt.

A great grove of trees. I last visited in the early 90s but my photos came back absolutely black.

Muir woods: I brought back a baby-sequoia ... but it didn't survive in Bergamo.
