Our Macedonian friends took my husband here TWICE. Since they seldom go to the same place twice in a row -- this was a big deal!! The food was reported as excellent!

Dalga is one of the best fish restaurants in town. It also benefits from being right on the lake as you pass through the old part of town on the way to Sv. Sophia.

Don Vita: Now the best pizza in town! Don Vita Review

The word is that Don Vita has now passed Cosa Nostra as THE pizza place. It was good ... but I wasn't that impressed ... On the other hand the location rocks :)

The snack cafe just off the main drag.: A popular lunch spot

As you can see a hamburger is 60 denars or about 1 euro. You can get pizza by the slice and something called "tost" -- which is a bit like a pannini, or a toasted cheese sandwich only different!

The best part is the seating area -- it is as nice as any other cafe in Ohrid and very shady.

The restaurant itself isn't anything special unless you get a table with a view of the lake, but the food is good national cuisine.

Favorite Dish: The "palascintas" or dessert pancakes with chocolate! The word is Hungarian, but the meaning is YUM!

Zito Luks is the major Macedonian producer of flour and baked goods. This cafe just off the main street of Ohrid offers just about anything you could desire included the Balkan delight, burek.

Cosa Nostra: Pizza is everywhere in Ohrid Cosa Nostra Review

The Macedonians have taken pizza as a national food. I've eaten here several times, both with Macedonian friends and with American students that we took the Ohrid.

Favorite Dish: The two differences from the pizza we get in the US, well three if you count the thin crispy crust, are that you can have the pizza with Macedonian ketchup and their version of sour cream. The sour cream in particular is delicious when spread on a crispy slice!!!
