You CAN see the Roman city of Stobi from the highway probably AFTER you have missed the poorly marked exit! It is about 20 minutes south of Veles.

Stobi is considered the most significant of the Roman sites in Macedonia. It certainly is the biggest!

The entrance off the highway is at the bottom of the map .

The MAIN entrance is not the one you'll use if you are coming off the highway. The museum and guard station are on the other side near the railroad and the river on a local road. Don't worry about buying your tickets -- they will find you:)

A very, very interesting place and page! A|mazing pics - of baptistry in travelogue especially! Nice to hear you found your seat in the amphitheatre. I must go there to find mine and to stop to smell the flowers :-)
