"Bath -- Baths, Town and Abbey!" Bath by shrimp56
Bath Travel Guide: 910 reviews and 1,998 photos
There is a lot to see in Bath. First it's a charming town, including the beautiful crescent of Georgian rowhomes. Then there is the abbey and its gorgeous fan vaulting. Yes, there are the baths -- but to my mind they are less interesting than the history that has transpired around the social season -- particularly the role Bath played in the life and novels of Jane Austen.
The picture above combines both the Roman and English aspects of Bath -- one of the Roman statues guarding the upper level of the baths with the abbey behind.

Hi Sally, I can't believe it's been 1/4 century since I last visited Bath. But it has. My older son was ten at the time, and he just turned 35 last week. (In Bath he was disappointed to learn that some of the 'Roman' statues were Victorian additions.)
You have some gorgeous photos of the Roman baths and other attractions! I've been on the outskirts of Bath at least 3 times but never made it into the city. I think you have now inspired me!
Super pics ... but where are the bathers? ;-\
Great pictures Sally! Your page brings back a lot of memories to me! Thanks! :-) Although I had a lot of rain while visiting Bath, I enjoyed it a lot!
Beautiful pictures, Sally!! Wow, really amazing!
Great page! I like the photo of vaulting of the abbey. Do you have a special camera to take photos inside churches? My photos get always very dark.
