by shrimp56 - last update: Jun 29, 2003

At Stonehenge we were surprised [and pleased] to see how well the path around the site has been devised to provide good clear views minus a background of other visitors.

.
Historically the circle was built sometime between 3,000 and 1,600 B.C.. There is no agreement, however, on its purpose, whether a temple, a burial ground, an astronomy site or ... ????

I share your viewpoint about access. Sacrificing the ability to go among the stones in exchange for some very nice photographs is worth it Nice pages.
