View of Tonle Sap river
You can sit in the Foreign Correspondants Club, look out over the Tonle Sap river and think all is well.

A PROJECT WORTH SUPPORTING: Visual voices from Cambodia
The British nonprofit PhotoVoice has begun a project giving orphans in Phnom Penh the opportunity to record their lives. The BBC link and sidebars are well worth your time.
You can look down the side streets and into people's eyes and know it's not. As any terror does, the legacy of the Kmer Rouge lives on in the low literacy rate and the grinding poverty.
.
Please note that the Killing Fields and Toul Sleng travelogues contain unpleasant and difficult material to view.

Just watched The Killing Fields last weekend so it's wonderful to come across your Phnom Penh page, Sally. :) Awesome photos and scans of postcards (of things we could not otherwise see virtually). Thanks!

Great insight into Phnom Penh! Cambodia is now gradually coming out from the tough times of the Khmer Rouge as well as the war with Vietnam.
