A beautiful island with all of the finer things you would expect to find at a first class resort. One of the best is that no cars are allowed except for construction traffic. All transportation on the island is by golf cart so you rarely hear traffic. There are a few restaurants, a few gift shops, a marina, an old (early 1800's) lighthouse, a wedding chapel, an eighteen hole golf course and some nature walks. I was able to walk on the beach for 3 1/2 hours without seeing another person.

Great tips! Anyone flying into RDU should contact All-Points Personal Trans to get them to Southport, if they can't fly into Wilmington
