Whitehaven is in the Whitsundays on the Great Barrier Reef in Qld. It is famous for it's ultra white sandy beaches. We visited there on a day trip on the Raggamuffin an ex Sydney to Hobart racing yaucht. Gorgeous beach hey!!!

Hastings Point Lagoon - far nth coast of NSW just south of the QLD border is paradise. When the tide is running you can flow out to the breakers. There is shade for the kids too. My friend and I used to take the kids down every day in summer. Ah that was the life!!!! What more can I say?!!!!
