This was our first day of driving on our big Europe adventure. Our plan was to drive from Zurich past Lake Konstanz, through the Black Forrest and up to Ettlingen for our first night in Germany.

We were running late as we spent a bit more time at Lake Konstanz than we should have - sipping the very nice Zoller-Hof beer in a place called Uberlingen.

So we didn't have a lot of time to spend here as the sun was about to set and we still had a couple of hours journey ahead of us to Ettlingen, our destination for the night. However, what little time we had, we certainly made the most of it.

If you plan to drive through the Black Forrest (and the trip is worth it) then you must put Titisee on your list for places to visit.

The town of Titisee and it's gorgeous lake was definately worth a stop. Not only is the lake pretty, but the surrounding gardens and tree lined streets were a pleasure to walk through.

We were all glad that we stopped here even though it was only for a short period of time.

Good that you saw Titisee even if it was only a short stop. It certainly is one of the highlights of the Black Forest. Titisee was one of the stops on my first big hiking trip in Europe, back when I was a student in Bern.

Germany has such great Rivers and the places you can sit and watch the action on the river I once had a job going from Rotterdam Holland to Basel Switzerland on a Rhine boat it was great
