Scenic Railway - Katoomba

The Blue Mountains is a wonderful place to go on a day trip from Sydney. It is about 1hr west of Sydney. It gets extremely cold in winter though and the fog takes a long time to clear off the mountains. Sometimes it snows. But the scenery is absolutely gorgeous and it is a must to go see when visiting Sydney.

Pros:Stunning scenery! Easy to get to by train from Sydney.
Cons:Freezing cold and too much fog to view mountains in Winter.
In a nutshell:A 'must see' when visiting Sydney.

Great to see a map of the Blue Mountains posted here. I really do hope to visit Australia some day. The driver of the bus I take to work is from Sydney, and has interesting stories and suggestions.

So nice seeing a pic of this little train again! I don't know what happened to my Sydney pics - can't find most of them...But we enjoyed Blue Mountains and my wife had a croissant sandwich there which she can never forget ! It was so yummy! Norman :)

I loved the Blue Mountains National Park, we went in the scenic train and my poor friend Anne could hardly get out. Very scaring ;-)
