Sydney Harbour is beautiful. The best way to see it is to go on a ferry/hydrofoil trip to Manly. The Opera House and Botanical Gardens is to your right and the Harbour Bridge and The Rocks is to your left. Captain Cook cruises offer a number of lunchen/dinner cruises etc and it is worth lookin into. We used to have work party cruises on the harbour when I worked for the railways - mmm but then that's another story :o) I think you'll find the harbour the best part of your trip to Sydney. Please check out the web site below, I think yoou'll find it very helpful. Have a great holiday.

Apart from the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge is one of the most popular attractions in Sydney. You can go right up the top of it. This is a view from our ferry coming in from Parramatta. It's a lovely peaceful trip along the Parramatta river.

The walk around Circular Quay and to the Opera House is lovely. Make sure you keep going past the Opera House and along to the botanical gardens. It's a beautiful walk.

When visiting the Opera House, hang a right and go for a walk along the harbour foreshore. The Botanical gardens spread down onto the foreshore and you can take lots of different paths up into them. This was where hubby got down on one knee and proposed to me many moons ago :-)

Woops,..........wrong rocks haha. I had to mention it and this is the closest pic I could find of The Rocks..lol. The Rocks is a quaint spot within walking distance from the Harbour. It is very European looking with cute cobblestone streets and lots of gift shops, cafes and pubs. I love it there and I'm sure you will too.

Manly should be on your must see list. You can get there by ferry/hydrofoil from Sydney Harbour. Manly has an underwater world for the kids and a lovely beach. It also has lots of quaint shops in the corso and the atmosphere there is warm and friendly. We loved buying an ice cream at the shop at the end of the corso just before the beach and taking it over the road to sit and eat and watch the waves. My favourite flavours are bubblegum (kakky green colour haha) and licourice (totally black yum yum ). The kababs at Manly are yummy too. Do not miss going to Manly by ferry/hydrofoil.

The Zoo is well known and definately recommended. Catch a ferry directly to the Zoo from Sydney Harbour. You can see all the Australian animals, hold a Koala and see awesome scenery and Sydney in the distance. They also have night surfaries. Check it out!!!

A great day trip west of Sydney. At Katoomba you can view the 3 sisters- lovely rock formations. The mountain views are spectacular and bush walks are nice. Also go on the scenic railway at almost a right angle down the mountain and come back up by skycab. The scenery is breathtaking. If you want to know where the three sisters are just like the roos in the pic, please visit my Blue Mountains page :o)

The Hunter Valley is the home of some of Australia's best wines. You may have heard of McWilliams, Draytons, Rothbury, Rosemount, Wyndham just to name a few of the notable ones. The Hunter Valley is well known for their white wines but Merlot reds have become popular lately. If you want to know more about the Hunter, please check out my Pokolbin page as I'm quite proud of it :o) The Hunter Valley is definately a must for wine lovers. You can go on a tourist day trip there for wine tastings.
