The big downunder VT Darwin Survivor meet 2008! Now this is what vt is all about!!
Viewing other vt'ers wonderful trips! Being silly on the miscellaneous forums :o) Planning your next trip to another exciting destination.... And of course meeting up with other vt'ers and enjoying great company, many laughs, food & drink and of course telling travel tales :o)
This is a pic of the survivors who ventured into the great Australian outback in 2 troupe carriers in May 2008. What an adventure we had! ...complete with bogs, numerous washout crossings, croc sightings, camping, contending with mozzies & disruptive VA's (read all about my VA adventures below) etc.
But we all had a wonderful time and survived to tell the story!!
I'd like to take this moment to thank Zig (1+1) for organising the whole trip! (Zig is on the left hand side of the pic....definately looking like the teacher of the group ;o) Zig did a fantastic job of arranging entry for us into Arnhem Land (owned by the Aboriginals) and looking after us throughout the whole journey :o) Being a Ranger, Zig knew the territory and we knew we were in the best hands!
So I take my hat off to you Zig!! You are truely a gem matey!! :o)

I made it yea!! Santorini!! .....Virtually that is. VA's have all the fun! :o)
What a host Hansi and Lori were! They sure looked after me and made sure I didn't fall apart :o) They took me everywhere with them and boy did I have one hellova weekend!!
I also got to meet all my mates and am so happy here to have my photo taken with two other great vt mates, Ove and Jess.
And the fellas even gave Jess and I a beer! How kind of them ;o)

Of course as usual on vt meets, things do get a little out of hand and I had to live up to the virtual attendees standard.

Another VA adventure! Scarlet was my host for the big Philippine VT meet December 2007.
This meet goes down in VT history as the warmest, kindhearted meet ever! ....& I was there!! ...... well virtually of course, thanks to the kind invitation by Monina_C & utchie :o)
I tell you, our little Philippine VT community are amazing!! Not only did they do a wonderful job in entertaining everyone but they also went out of their way to take goodies & bring love & kindness to the aged at Green Acres Aged Care Centre.
You guys rock!!

Well Thank you for visiting my humble pages. We moved to Perth from Sydney 6 years ago now. I'm sure I have gypsy in my blood as right about now, I usually get itchy feet. The most I have stayed in a place (apart from where I grew up of course) is 7 years.....so you never know what the future may hold.
A little bit about aussirose.
I am a family person with 4 kids so we cannot always aford to travel but we are fortunate enough to have lived in quite a few places in Australia. I joined vt, like many of you, planning a great Europe trip. Hopefully this will happen one day.....I've got my mind set on it.....and aussirose is quite a determined lady ;o)
I live about 20 minutes north of Perth near Mullalloo. Since vt does not have my suburb on the map, then the closest place to home is Mullalloo. Anyway, since Mullallo is close to home I have made up quite a nice little page incorporating Mullalloo, my local beach and Hillarys Boat Harbour. Hope you drop by :o)
As most of you already know by now, I love the simple things in life....and you can't get much more simple than enjoying a fabulous sunset with a few glasses of wine and a smorgasboard of cheese, crackers, dip, fresh bread, peppery olive oil, olives etc....

Besides sunsets and learning more about the beautiful places in the world. I love going on picnics with the kids. Beaches are my passion and I daydream a lot :o)
I love music too, just about anything,....well except opera haha. Music is a mood thing and usually I love to hear lively dance stuff, especially when I'm doing boring housework lol.
When I find the time I enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles too.

I nearly forgot,..... besides beaches and sunsets, I love tropical flowers too. Hibiscus are my favourite, with frangipani close second. Somehow, I didn't think the nic Aussibiscus sounded right?!! lol - so that's why I became Aussirose.... Anyway, I do love the scent of deep red roses,....mmmmm :o)
Ever had a feeling you were missing out on something? ........ Then perhaps you need to experience a VT meeting!! What could be more fun than to meet up for the first time with someone from another part of the world that you have spoken to here on vt. It's called 'instant friends'. Try it!! ....Believe me, you won't be dissapointed.
I had the privilege of hosting our 2nd big downunder meet (1st one in Melbourne hosted by Ann12) in Perth April 2007. We had over 40 people from all around Australia, New Zealand and a few from USA arrive in Perth, and boy did this little city rock!
