The Green Isle. Still red hot! Within the space of 10 years, Ireland grew from a European backwater to one of its prime tourist destinations. A healthy dose of optimism, an eager workforce and a huge amount of EU subsidies, this once remote corner of Europe is now an economic stronghouse and although the explosive success has calmed down a lot, there's still development everywhere!
Of course, this also means that the quiet and mystical Ireland has largely disappeared. Regions such as Connemara, Wicklow and especially Kerry have been largely affected by mass tourism, although the Irish government keeps it at a high standard. In places like Donegal and Mayo you will still find the beautiful Ireland of the Celtic legends, and the capital Dublin has only gained in attractiveness and amount of craic (fun)!
In the picture you see me in the middle, flanked by my brother and his girlfriend on one of our trips to the Dingle peninsula. Visit my Dublin page for more tips on this city! |

dd56 Sun Mar 18, 2007 12:10 UTC Your photo taken on the Dingle Peninsula is at the very spot where I would like to take a holiday. Travelled round on a mini-break by car but didn't think to find out when there. So can you recommend anywhere to stay where your photo was taken? | kymbanm Tue Oct 18, 2005 23:47 UTC Bedankt Theo ... my angel has very special .... um .... wings :) | PeteNL Sat Apr 2, 2005 21:41 UTC Ah, another Ireland fan!
