How lucky we are to have the wonderful FREE Smithsonian museums when we want to play tourist and visit the city. The weather is generally good -- it can get pretty hot -- but there are many trees and garden spots along the mall to cool you off.
Lately we've discovered we can ride our bikes through Rock Creek Park from Maryland all the way to Georgetown and the mall area. On weekends, one of the main roads through the park is closed to through auto traffic, so hundreds of people use it to ride bikes, roller skate/blade, run or just take a lovely walk. |

elgin99 Fri Apr 1, 2005 08:41 UTC Beautiful page, Diane! I wish you a nice weekend, dear friend! | grets Thu Sep 30, 2004 12:13 UTC I enjoyed a brief visit to Washington some four years ago, but it looks from this great page that I didn't have anywhere near enough time to see all that's on offer. The festival looks awsome! | kyoub Sun Sep 26, 2004 23:02 UTC Very interesting page and tips. Thanks for the e-card. |
