The Wine Route! | Countryside and Beaujolais Wine Country |
We left Lyon for two nights in Burgundy. We love wine and couldn't miss the opportunity to visit this famous area of France. While our sunny weather deserted us, we still found the area to be gorgeous. We drove to Beaujolais, first, and took a short trip off the highway to see the lovely countryside. |
| | Chalon sur Saone Our next stop was this interesting little town. We had lunch at a cafe that was open...this was not a touristy time and the only customers were some locals. The view of the town municipal plaza was interesting -- a nice mix of old and new. |
| | Beaune We stopped in Beaune, to check out the major tourist attractions in this famous wine town. It was a good way to spend the afternoon, but don't miss my tip on "Tourist Traps"
If I were allowed another picture/chapter, I'd also suggest you pay a visit to Dijon! (see tips) |

mvtouring Tue May 26, 2009 21:51 UTC Great tips and photo's on a fantastic place ;-) | Callavetta Fri May 13, 2005 21:47 UTC I'd really like to see Dijon. The architecture indeed is beautiful. Don't you love wine tasting in France? Did you get to taste at any of the backyard winemaker's homes? Challenging but fun. | skywalkerbeth Tue Feb 22, 2005 18:29 UTC isn't it beautiful there? I've only been there once, to Beaune... (just saw the lying in state - eek! morbid!) | elgin99 Wed Dec 8, 2004 09:28 UTC Sounds like a wonderful trip! Thanks, Diane! |
