More than just a One Night Stand...

Street in Vieux Lyon
and yet, that was all we could fit in this trip. Lyon is a terrific city, with food "to-die-for." One night, sandwiched between only slightly longer stays in the Dordogne and Burgundy. But, we found a really vibrant city and a "foodie's paradise" in Lyon.
Lyon
We stayed in the center of town, so we got to see some really exciting shops for home and kitchen decor as well as fashionable ready-to-wear. But across the Saone river bridge is the Saint-Jean quarter of old Lyon, with terrific restaurants and nightspots....and of course the intricate "passages" with residences dating back to Renaissance times.
Apartments with Passage entry
Go through a door in the wall...and find a complex of apartments located off a common courtyard.

How long were you in France? I hope to be in SE France late this month, for way too short a time. I spent my entire life thinking that I was Scots-Irish only to discover a river and a very small town in France with my surname as part of their place name.

I love Lyon. It was my first experience with France. I met my daughter there after her year abroad as an exchange student. That might have had an impact on my emotions!
