Paris -- again and again

Third time -- charmed

When you go back, it's almost like going home. Well, no, it's nothing like home...but certainly a place I plan to get to know better and better over the years to come. This intro page contains tips and pictures from three different visits. Nothing has changed my mind...I love it still. There are additions to the General Tips, so don't miss the all new stuff! There's also a travelogue with some favorite memories from our first trip in 1998, "Marking Time"; memories from April 2002 start with: The Second Time Around. In May 2003 we visited the South of France, and spent our last three nights in Paris before heading home. I've added a couple of new tips and pics, and there may be a few more to come.

Yep there ARE some more as we returned again in 2006!

Is Paris the most Romantic City?

Is there any other city that instantly makes people think of being in love. You really couldn't make a mistake by choosing Paris as a spot to mark a significant birthday, anniversary, or holiday.
Kind of sweeps you off your feet!

Each trip back is so different!

We finished up a 35-day "We're Retired" Celebration trip through France and Spain in the fall of 2006 with another stay in Paris.

All we had done ahead of time this trip was to reserve a hotel room (Hotel Andrea Rivoli). We dropped off our rental car at L'Orly and took the airport shuttle into town where we caught the Metro to Chatelet Metro Stop.

I must pop in my hotel rec and add a "new find" to our restaurant listings, as well as fill in with some places we visited that somehow we've missed before - the Petit Palace and Pere Lachaise Cemetary for starters. This was a wonderfully relaxed way to end our magnificent trip.

Pros:"Art, Food, Wine, History, ATMOSPHERE"
Cons:"That I can't just pop over there more often"
In A Nutshell:"I'm always in love in Paris."

I visited the same place but can't remember the story connected to this man or his name. Do you know the name?
