This would be a three and a half star hotel which was opened, as a Parkroyal, about 12 or 13 years ago. Comfortable, normal size hotel rooms, standard hotel decor etc. One restaurant for breakfast/lunch/dinner, plus two bars. Service good without being exceptional, staff friendly and laid-back.
Unique Qualities: The big plus in its favour is its location. There are many alternative hotels close by, some better, some not as good. It's on the city side of Darling Harbour, so it's an easy walk to the attractions of Darling Harbour itself, to Chinatown and to the Opera House and harbour.

Formerly Old Sydney Parkroyal, it's an old building housing a modern hotel. Four star quality, a huge and surprising atrium lobby with all the rooms around it off open corridors, looking over the lobby.
Unique Qualities: It's in a great location in the heart of The Rocks, where Australia's first European settlement was built. Historic buildings, great restaurants & cafes, original pubs, an excellent weekend market...and all right on the harbour close to the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

Originally built as the Nikko Hotel, this is a four star hotel in a great location on the city side of Darling Harbour. Ask for a Harbour View room, the view is great, especially with the lights after dark. And you get to see the fireworks and entertainment in Darling Harbour from the comfort of your room. The comfortable rooms are a good size, the staff are friendly, efficient & laid back.
Unique Qualities: The main thing is the location. An easy walk across to Darling Harbour, to Chinatown, to the Opera House and harbour. Winner of 2004 Australian Hotels Assoc. NSW 'Best Superior Hotel'.
