Restaurant Name: Thai-Foon
Indoor-outdoor restaurant on first floor overlooking the water and the entertainment at Darling Harbour. Excellent authentic Thai food, large selection of dishes, friendly service, fully licensed. As with all Australian restaurants, smoking is only allowed outside.
Favorite Dish: BBQ Chicken and Chilli Basil Noodles are our two favourites - but all the dishes we've tried have been excellent.

Restaurant Name: Doyle's restaurant.
Doyles is a famous seafood restaurant, originally only at Watsons Bay, now also at the harbour and at the fish market in Sydney. Dine outside (or inside with picture windows), the view is sensational. I find the food a little 'formula', but it's excellent all the same. Sitting right beside the Harbour Bridge with the Opera House just across the water, it's a true Sydney experience.
As with all Australian restaurants, smoking is only allowed outside.
Favorite Dish: The Seafood Platter to start (including king prawns, oysters, smoked salmon, calamari) takes some beating. Barramundi (a beautiful northern Australian fish) with a Cajun crust is excellent too.

Restaurant Name: Waterfront Restaurant.
Historic waterfront sandstone warehouses have been expertly converted into upmarket restaurants, looking out to Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and harbour.
This one specialises in seafood, has a large outdoor dining area and cosy atmosphere inside among the sandstone walls and timber.
The menu is a bit 'formula' but the food is excellent with the typically fresh top-quality seafood we're used to in Australia. They offer a lunchtime menu for $32 with a choice of two dishes from the three courses available and there's are several dishes for each course.
As with all Australian restaurants, smoking is only allowed outside.
Favorite Dish: I always go for Barramundi, a succulent northern Australia fish, grilled or fried. Geina likes the king prawns with garlic & chilli.

Restaurant Name: Wolfies
One of the best locations in Sydney, harbour, bridge & Opera House all within a few metres.
Excellent food with plenty of options. They offer a lunchtime special of two courses from the three course menu for $33. Choose from pasta, risotto, fish of the day, chicken, BBQ ribs, pie, kangaroo loin, steak for the main course. Then choose either to start with salad, grilled calamari, pasta, bruschetta or indulge in a dessert of gelato, pavlova, chocolate truffle or vanilla bean creme brulee.
Favorite Dish: Geina said her caesar salad was the 'best ever' and she followed it with BBQ ribs, which was a huge slab with very tasty BBQ sauce. I had the excellent and very fresh grilled fish and followed that with vanilla bean creme brulee.

Restaurant Name: The Vintage Cafe on The Rocks
A cute little place tucked away in one of the narrow old alleyways in The Rocks. Open for breakfast and light lunches, from 8.30am to about 3pm.
You're in the oldest part of the city, away from the traffic in a real oasis of relaxation.
Favorite Dish: They prepare a superb scrambled eggs with smoked salmon breakfast. The coffee is also excellent, so it's a great way to ease yourself into the day!
