Passing the sight of those quirky houses again ! So beautiful !
If only I would be near to those houses; If only I could live in them !
If I would live in Akureyri, I would love to explore those snao capped mountain tops !
I didn't know anybody there...

Now, telling you guys about the weather !
Can you see the temperature on the photo ? It was 7 degree celcius !
For me that was cold although it changed to 4 to 7 to 5 to 9, every minutes or so...
Still, feeling good !
Walking with a friend, Brian...made me forgot my coldness, I guess.

Down the hill, walking back to The Youth Hostel, captured another photo !
Looking at the snow capped montains, so serene...Thinking how lucky I was being in Iceland ! Seeing all these with my own eyes !
The weather was cold ! I was okay, feeling good being in Akureyri...

Walked pass the stadium, after about 5 minutes from The Bus terminal...climbed a small hill & saw this monument :
It is a statue of Helgi The Lean. He was the first settler in the Akureyri area.

On this small hill also situated A View Disc.
A View Disc looks like this : A round plate with a stick running through the middle of it.
Put your eyes near the stick but LOOK OVER IT ! Your sighting MUST be paralell to the ground that you stand on;
When you see a mountain, then you can look at the plate as it would tell you the informations about the mountain !

After coming back from The Botanical Garden, we had to walk back to The Youth Hostel, hence passing the bus terminal again.
This photo just behind the bus terminal is showing 'small flowing waterfalls' over some plants & flowers...very nice !

Again, passing another monument !
This statue is called 'The Outlaw', built by Einar Jonsson.
The sun was really blinding me ! It was 'at night' ! Nevertheless it didn't feel that way...
The area was quiet, nobody's walking around.
I was telling Brian that everybody was sleeping at that time except us !
We just laughed...

Although I could enter Akureyrikirkja, as it was passed visiting hours; I somehow took a photo of the door !
This church is Akureyri's pride & joy !
The church itself was made from basalt rocks !

From the church, me & Brian started walk to The Botanical Garden;
The church is on top of a hill hence we could see the waterfront down below !
Akureyri is almost perched on Eyjafjordur Fjord & this view alone would make Akureyri such a beautiful city !

Another photo of Akureyrikirkja as I came closer to the church.
It was closed when I was there, passed the visiting hours.
Inside the church, there would be a large 3200-pipe organ & some untraditional reliefs of the life of Christ !
Can't show you guys anything because I couldn't enter...

This is a photo of Akureyrikirkja, literally means The Church of Akureyri.
Constructed in 1940 by the architect called Gudjon Samuelsson. The architect who was also responsible of Reykjavik's Hallgrimskirkja !
