PORTOROZ<<<<<PIRAN>>>>>ILIRSKA BISTRICA
SLOVENIA
Piran is a charming little medieval town on a triangle-shaped spit of land poking into the Gulf of Trieste at the southern end of Slovenia's coast. English travel writer J.A. Cuddon called it "one of the most beautiful small towns on the whole coastline."
Conquered by Venice in the late 13th century, it retains a Venetian air, with fine examples of Venetian-gothic architecture and an early 17th century church tower above the main square and port, which is a copy of the bell tower of St. Mark's in Venice.

We enjoyed our visit to Piran this summer. Your page brought back some good memories.
Being there twice I must admit that Piran is a very special and beautiful place :-)))
Yes it is a small page to your standards Arnaud, but it is a wonderful one:))
I didn't realize that Piran was so close to Venice! Sure looks like a great town to explore!
Piran looks great, nice pictures and good tips!
Yeah! Piran is a beautiful place. But one can go by car there, although parking is allowed only in the Tartini Square area.
