Nobody would have thought that Slovenia had a booming beach resort on par with the beaches I cited above. This place is amazing !
Ivan (my Slovene 'fisherman-cap' friend) & me searched for a nice spot to park the car. Not Very Easy.
Driving along the main road, which was parallel with the sea showed what Portoroz was like to my eyes, not mentioned in my guidebook. People were everywhere & it's holiday season to the gill obviously. There on the beach, more people absorbing the sunlight as if it was the last day before Kingdom Come.
Me & Ivan were just walking, absorbing the nice tanned bodies like 2 beach guards doing our security checks !
What a nice sight & everything was 'contra' with each other in Portoroz.
Me bought some postcards for people back home & perfecting my daylight photography at the same time !
We walked past the very many bars & stalls; walked past people wearing thongs & T-backs; overtooked by people in their rollerskates & bikes; past the carparks; past the salt factory; Yep, salt is produced here too maybe from the sweat glands of those people wearing thongs & T-backs ! No, just joking...
We walked far from where we parked the car, feasting our eyes on anything that moved.
We came to another Slovenia attraction, Piran.
Piran & Portoroz, remember these names when you are in Slovenia. They are a good evidence why Slovenian West Coast can be called a 5 star resort one of these years. 2004, Slovenia will be submitted into EU & smaller sizes of thongs & T-backs will be available to Asian people, visiting Portoroz, as well.
Almost like a lost paradise albeit full of people, you will love the sun, the sea & the beach in Portoroz.
Bring your thongs OR T-backs & nothing else !
