Syrena - Warsaw
Syrena Syrenka - Mermaid Review

In the middle of the Old Town Square stands a statue of Syrena, the Warsaw mermaid. The official symbol of the city, Syrena is usually depicted with a double tail and is armed with a sword and shield, a rarity among mermaids. Warsaw is very proud of Syrena, who is featured in the city's coat of arms which adorns the door of every taxicab in the city...

That's me infront of Syrena...

Pomnik Powstania Warszawskiego Warsaw Uprising Review

Monument in honor of the Warsaw Uprising of 1944.

Warsaw's most infamous attempt to resist Nazi occupation is tellingly memorialized with the Warsaw Uprising monument at Krasinskich Square designed by W. Kucma and J. Budyn and unveiled in 1989.

The Monument to The Killed & Murdered In The East - Warsaw
The Monument to The Killed & Murdered In The East Monuments Review

Poles not only died in Warsaw, but were also deported to the East. This fact is commemorated by the aptly-named Monument of the Killed and Murdered in the East.

One of Warsaw's newest monuments...raised on the traffic island in Muranowska Street near its intersection with Andersa Street...

Nowy Swiat - Warsaw
Nowy Swiat Royal Way Review

Nowy Swiat and Krakowskie Przedmiescie also feature many exclusive cafes, restaurants, stores and fashionable boutiques. Nowy Swiat is great for walks as part of the street is closed for traffic.

In middle ages this area was occupied by Warsaw's wealthiest residents. The area suffered during the Swedish invasion in 1655 but it was soon rebuilt.

Some of the attractions that are worth seeing are: Warsaw University, Bristol Hotel, Potocki Palace, Holly Cross Church, Adam Mickiewicz monument as well as Nicholas Copernicus monument. All of the attractions are located along Nowy Swiat and Krakowskie Przedmiescie Streets.

The Tomb Of Unknown Soldier The Tomb of Unknown Soldier Review

It lies the grave of the Unknown Soldier with its eternal flame. The names of battles are engraved on the pillars. A smart honor guard stands there day and night.

Through the grille behind the Unknown Soldier we have a vista of Ogród Saski.

The temple otself has been rebuilt many times. At present, together with its slender bricked belfry it represents a gothic style.

The church is located in a pictureque place...In front of it, we can see the Vistula River & Kosciuszko's Coast.
