ANTWERP<<<<<AMSTERDAM>>>>>VILLERS-LA-VILLE Saturday 16th June 2001First Day :I visited Amsterdam from Belgium; It was a weekend trip for me & Paul (Reg). So many things to experience while I was there but God ! We just didn't have the time... I had a bit of a culture shock' as well ! Arriving in Amsterdam during the weekend with no booking to stay made us hectic ! At the train station, I told Paul that I just didn't have enough money to stay at expensive places. Paul, no worry as he would be taking care of me ! Paul wanted to make sure that I had a good memory for my first trip to Europe ! Thanks Paul. The booking office at the train station was packed with people, also looking for a place to stay during the weekend. When it was our turn to approch the counter; The best room would be at a hotel near The Van Gogh Museum ! I just kept quiet & let Paul do the talking... We took a bus to reach there & it was my first glimpse of Amsterdam ! It was beautiful, hectic, colourful ! Deep in my heart, I said NOW I am in Amsterdam ! We rested for a while & went out ! Paul asked me what I wanted to see first ? I said, "Is it okay if we see The Red Light District ?" Paul asked, " WHY !?" I said because I had heard so much about it ! We both laughed ! So, we were there; Walking, giggling like 2 school boys whenever we saw something 'out-of-the-ordinary' ! Paul asked, "You like this place huh ?" I didn't answer, I just smiled... I wanted to take as many photos as possible but my new (then) camera was ***ed up in Brugge, Belgium. Paul said sometimes taking photos is no good it's the experience of being at one place that counts; Though, Paul let me use his. We then visited The Sex Museum. More giggles for us !
