Jadrolinija (Tel : 355 399), in the large ferry terminal opposite the bus station; handles the coastal ferry line to Hvar Island.
The local car ferry is cheaper. 28 Kn & 1 1/2 hours.
The car ferries & passenger lines leave from separate docks.
The passenger lines leave at Obala Lazareta & the car ferries at Sv Petra.
In summer, it's wise to book first.

Local buses :
Buses no: 37 go to Solin, Split Airport & Trogir.
The local bus station in on Domovinskog, about 1 kn north east of the city centre.
It is in Lovret area.

There are many buses at the bus station in Split & being the 2nd largest city in Croatia, the buses should be the best way to go & out from Split.
Some samples:
Dubrovnik : 4 1/2 hours
Pula : 10 hours
Rijeka : 8 hours
Zadar : 4 hours
Zagreb : 8 hours
Ljubljana : 10 hours
Mostar : 3 hours
Sarajevo : 7 hours

Croatia Express, near the bus station; has many buses to some German cities.
Daily buses to Munich
Weekend buses to Berlin
(Tel : 342 645 ; Obala Kneza Domagoja 9)

Touring Agency (Tel : 338483) has a weekly bus to Amsterdam. 35 hours.

By trains :
3 or 4 times a day between Split & Zagreb.
9 hours.
6 trains a day between Sibenik & Split.
1 1/2 hours.
On Sunday, the trains would be less.

Croatia Airlines operate s 1 hour flights to/from Zagreb.
4 times daily, depending on the seasons.
There are also direct flights to London & Prague. ONLY in April to October.
