WIENERWALD<<<<<KLOSTERNEUBURG>>>>>TULLN

AUSTRIA
We stopped in Klosterneuburg. Who are 'we' ? Go back to my previous page : Wienerwald & Vienna. You guys can hop along. Axel parked his car. Overlooking a nice church looming on top of a hill. Axel stretching his legs. Matthias gave some medical tips maybe. He's a doctor. Me, looking around. Looking for something to capture in my cheapie (camera). Feel good. Feel amazing being in Austria with 2 awesome dudes. Ha! Well, they do look like poster-type (Viennese)boys.
Axel said the time was up. We shall continue to the Wachau area now. I got more excited. Asked them if we could go to one place that I saw in my guidebook. They were not sure but they also said, "We are here for you !". Yippee !
Klosterneuburg could be your stop in getting to the western part of Vienna. You wouldn't miss the church plastered here on this very page. Get a car, rent a car, steal a car, get a schoolboy or a schoolgirl, depends on what kind of smell you desire & drove along to the Wachau.
Next Tulln.

Only a little north-west of Vienna's provincial territory...Klosterneuburg is known for its large Augustinian abbey, Stift Klosterneuburg...

It was founded in 1114.

A MUST SEE...

The abbey buildings are mostly baroque & can be visited daily by an hour-long tour..( €5.10)..but only from May to October.
I was just passing through Klosterneuburg while driving to the Wachau area...on Thursday 9th May....on the same day I arrived in Vienna...

The next destinations after Klosterneuburg was Krems...Dürnstein...Melk....

Please have a visit to all the pages mentioned above,....with some photos that I took along the way.

Vienna was the first destination for my 2nd trip to Europe....which also comprised of Slovakia, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic & Hungary....

Lots of places to see in each of these countries...with tons of photos taken by me!

Thank You.

I work in the abbey and I am afraid you got something wrong... Because the visit with the guided tour is possible all year!! Only the museum which is additional to the rooms which you see at the tour is closed in winter.
