Lacock Abbey Cloister... - Chippenham

Lacock Abbey Cloister...

Lacock Abbey...

Fondest memory: Just after entering, I saw this noticeboard of Harry Potter; Telling us all that some scenes from the Harry Potter movies were shot inside The Cloister...of Lacock Abbey.
Maybe to lure tourists, I took a photo (well, actually 2...if you look through ALL my photos on this page !) so that we all know about the film !

Lacock Abbey, England - Chippenham

Lacock Abbey, England

Lacock Abbey...

Fondest memory: Lacock Abbey was converted into a house for Sir William Sharrington, who demolished the abbey church. Few other alterations were made to the monastic buildings themselves...
Finally, I managed to locate the entrance to The Cloister...It was sort of hidden although sign-posted.

After coming out from the house, I walked around it...I wanted to feel the ambience of the place; After all many films were shot here as the sceneries capture the period from the last few centuries...

Lacock Abbey, England - Chippenham

Lacock Abbey, England

Lacock Abbey...

Fondest memory: Lacock Abbey was founded by Ela Countess of Salisbury as a nunnery for the Augustinian canonesses...
In the mid 19th century, Henry Fox Talbot remodelled some parts of the house including 3 oriel windows & one of which was used as a subject in the first known example of photographic negative !
This is the entrance of the abbey or rather the 'renovated' abbey...
This is a private house so not all parts of this house was opened to the public unfortunately...
BUT, thanks to my cheekyness we could still see some interiors of the house...

Lacock Abbey Ticket... - Chippenham

Lacock Abbey Ticket...

Lacock Abbey Ticket...

Fondest memory: This is my ticket to he Lacock Abbey; Bought at the Infomation Centre...
I decided not to visit the museum because I was pressing for times as I had to get back to Chippenham Town on the same evening.
So, I was only visiting The Abbey, The Cloister & The Garden...
