LACOCK :
Lacock (pronounced 'Lay-Cock') is a 16th century village. Its Abbey stands on the edge of Lacock Village with no modern additions ( NO YELLOW LINES, NO TV AERIALS ), which makes the whole area perfect for 'period filmings'...as Pride & Prejudice, Moll Flanders, Emma, The Mayor of Casterbridge including Harry Potter films were all shot here !

Henry Fox Talbot (The Father of Modern Photography...) invented photography in The Lacock Abbey in 1835.

10 miles of petrol costs about £1, plus wear & tear on the car, so for one person it makes sense economically & environmentally; also, you get a driver & a much better view from a bus! I believe the return ticket costs the same as a single??
