The Lower Slaughter (together with The Upper Slaughter, which I only passed through...) is certainly one of the most picturesque villages in The Costwold !
Their 'repellent' name is actually a corruption of a Saxon slang, meaning 'Place of Sloe Trees'...
This village is also sits on 'a slough' or known to us as a wetland.
The little Eye Stream (from Eye River) is running through this quaint village passing 2 small bridges.
The attraction here is the village itself & an old corn mill...
This old mill is now owned by a Jazz singer called Gerald Harris. he has turned the mill into a souvenir shops, plus many great Jazz CDs for sale !
