THE COTSWOLDS
My second day around The Cotswold ! Started in Cheltenham, Pat's place; After having breakfast, off we explored more !
First village, Painswick. In the Southern Cotswold. Less tourists come this way which is just right for me !
In was early morning, so it's pretty quiet. The village itself is so pretty; Went inside the church & smelled flowers ! There were some women who were preparing a wedding that would be held there later on that day.
I wish we could stay just to watch the occasion but of course we were not invited...So, we didn't.
Took some photos; The graveyard has some tombs cracked opened ! Pat was telling me that maybe we could see some skeletons ! No, we didn't peek...
Next, we drove to Stroud...Just a small town & Pat convinced me that there's nothing to see there...So, we passed through Stroud, on the way to Minchinhampton.
The St. Marys' Church is very interesting !
It's graveyard surrounded the church with its 'table-top' tombs of rich wool merchants who made the village prosperous during the 17th century.
