ITALYTuesday 17th June 2003Shopping capital ? How come I didn't see Naomi Campbell around, in Milan ? Reach here from Viareggio by train & Milan waited for me with an open arm.
I was waited by several Milan's in my life only this time, Milan is not a person.
Trendy is the word when it comes to Milan the place. Not everybody but some people were just so,...ahh ! A fashion model (that's what I thought of her) gave me some tips to take the metro & I sat sail.
Called Maxi (that's not a dress, this time a real person). Found him & first thing he asked me, "Hungry ?" "Well, yes..." What was I supposed to say when I really was.
Treated ourself McDonald's foods. Don't laugh. It was just behind the spot where he was standing anyway.
Talked about life & lives. Compared notes. Blinked he's gone ! So brief, just like this one life we all have.
The night crept in; Checked in for a place to sleep...Night time, in Milan & I was supposed to go out !
I chose not to, maybe in some other life ! Though I had another agenda at The Youth Hostel ! I guess you lot will never know about that huh ?
The Youth Hostel was nice, although a Chinese girl pretending to be lost into the male dormitory, was unforgiven but this is the place to get lost anyway.
All nationalities from the world over hovered here. Why ? Shopping or having Italian McDoc ? Maybe just cruising Milan for all what he (the place) could offer.
2 Dutch (one Chinese Dutch btw), a Turkish & me in my dormitory. Exchanged notes, maps, paths & tips. No, we didn't go to any salloon !
The following day, left early because the Doumo ( a church this time) awaited me with its impressive layers of walls, arches & doors. Snapped them with my cheapie (camera, that is).
Had an excursion to Como (another nature's gift to travellers, us) with a lake. Spent a good hour there & back to Milan for 'Juliet On The Balcony'.
