Moderne Pisa... Campo dei Miracoli Review

I somehow like this photo in Miracles Square. Took somewhere in the Square.
My interpretation is that the dome behind the wall looked a bit moderne, compared to the wall at the front.
Any other interpretations ?

This is just a closer view of the Cathedral of Santa Maria by me.
Look how intricate the building was built.

Sit Anywhere... The Duomo/Cathedral Review

Here's a photo of the Cathedral again. Notice that the people in front of the photo.
People were many, not enough places to sit. So we can people sitting on the cathedral steps, the grass field (very nicely-mowed). People were sitting in the shades of course. I was there in June 2003, the weather was extremely hot ! Even for an Asian like me.
Sit where ever you want to but please don't litter !

Here you can see the medieval wall around Miracles Square. It is still intact, parts of it anyway,all these years.

The carvings on the door of The Cathedral is captured by me here.
This is Carving 1 I shall call it. They are biblical stories, carved at the entrance of the cathedral.

Amazing Displayed... The Baptistery Review

This is the Dome of San Giovanni Baptistry. Look how beautiful the statues, windows & pillars are !
The construction began in 1153.
This cylindrical baptistry is 116 feet in diameter.

The Cathedral... The Duomo/Cathedral Review

Now this is the Santa Maria Cathedral. It was begun in construction in 1064.
The Cathedral is one of the finest of the Romanesque period.

Closer View... The Tower Review

On this photo, I walked closer to the Tower & captured this view much closer.
It looked so amazing.
From the ground, we could see the decorations on the tower to the top...
I felt like I was still seeing the tower through the pictures that I saw in history books, travel books...
