Crawling Plants... SAN GIUSTO Castle & Cathedral Review

Still on the San Giusto Hill...
There should be a castle & a cathedral in this area; Either I walked passed them or I was too tired of looking for them !
I could see the walls though...
I took this photo for my mum. She always love seeing the crawling plants on a wall, taken in Europe. It's rare for us here because if there's crawling plants on our wall, we would spray pesticide on them as to kill the crawling insects/animals in them hence killing the plants as well...

Small Roman Arena... The old Roman Theater Review

Came to this small arena built by the Roman. A gardener was tidying the place when I was there.
This Roman Theater is at the bottom of The San Giusto Hill.
It's not that big...but another attraction in Trieste.

A Closer Look... Serbian orthodox church Review

Also taken in the same area of Canal Grande, this beautiful building caught my eyes !
It's the Serbian Orthodox Church called Chisea di Santo Spiridione...
It was completed in 1868...

At The Top...

At the top of San Giusto Hill, we could have a good view of the town down below...From my photos, it's the area of Borgo Teresiano.
A clear view of Trieste. Picture postcard, almost.

Classic Buildings... Saint Anthon and the Canal Grande Review

This photo was taken at the end of Canal Grande...This area is also known as Borgo Teresiano.
It is told that this area was planned by Austrian urban plannersin the 18th century for Empress Maria Theresa.
There are many classic buildings around Trieste, maybe from the Habsburg era. I had a pleasant walk while waiting for my friend from Slovenia, Ivan to get me in Trieste...

The Ruins...

Still at the ruins next to the photo taken above. I could see the walls & they are lining up a street, tall walls so I couldn't see what they were hiding behind them.
I guess what attracted me most on the walls are the lush plants growing on them !

A Remembrance Monument...

Also on San Giusto Hill, I found this monument which is situated in the Parco della Rimembranza; This is a small park & also a remembrance of the soldiers died from the first World War...When I showed this photo to people in my country, they all thought that it's lewd that statues showing their penises !

Go Up The Hill...

I climbed to the hill called San Giusto for an amazing view of the city !
Overlooking an area called Borgo Teresiano; This is an area where there are shops, restaurants...lively.
I passed them by just to go up this hill; Something interesting could be waiting for me up there !

Medieval Ruins...

Still on San Giusto Hill...Came to a medieval ruins, could it be Roman ?
Saw a woman throwing seeds to the pigeons; She looked at me I looked at her; I smiled she turned her face a way !

The Left Side...

This is the left side of The Roman Theater...You can see the ruins of which they are just left like that.
Even a ruin needs to be tidied up to make the place looks like a nice ruin !
