From the catamaran, which departed from Pored, Croatia; there were people who were going for the first time to Venice like me. Talked with a boy & his granny (from Australia), exchanging travel notes etc. This granny wanted to follow my foot-steps in my travel, she said. Well, you have to sleep on the bench at the park then...
At the custom, it was quite annoying. The officer asked my purpose of coming to Venice, I said the usual thing,... stripper, go-go dancer etc. This was going on for about 10 minutes & I got so pissed ! I said I was not stopped, by anybody when coming to Rome, at Fumicino Airport. What's the f*@king problem of me coming to Venice ? I said I wouldn't stay in Venice to look for a job, neither to plant a bomb at the St. Mark's Square. A young officer came to my rescue (always like that !) said, it's their routines & they let me go. Although I had to show my flight ticket back to KL which had scheduled the few following days.
I had to rush to join the excursion group from Porec. Right, I came to Venice by the excursion group & Prince of Venice is NOT as a one-way transport from one destination to another. Nevertheless, you have to tell the agency that you are going one way & maybe, you only pay 3/4 of the full price.
The tour guide was excellent, she explained to us everything about Venice. She breates Venice !
We went to the small Murano glass factory & watched a guy blowing a lump of glass at the end of a stick into a beautiful glass horse ! Amazing, within just a few minutes...
Then, we had our lunch. Again, I blew my top ! No, not because of the pricey prices, but some rude guys told me if I wanted something really cheap, I should go somewhere else ! I was just asking for Spagheti Bolognese...was I not in Italy ?
Found a place, a good restaurant anyway, had my Spaghetti Bolognese (my fave meal when travelling). Hhmm, I wonder if they have that in Iceland for my trip next year....they should have. It's in Europe.
Then, we were re-grouped & we took the canal excursion on a water bus. About 8 people get on the water bus. Now, there's a different between gondola, water bus & water taxi. Water bus looks exactly like a boat, smaller as it could only contain 8 persons.
This was amazing because we passed through some nice buildings & beautiful canal sceneries.
After about 20 minutes. we were back to the custom, for the rest of the group, they had to get back to Porec, me I collected my luggage & ready to look for a place to sleep on that night ! The old officer was not to be seen at the Custom, maybe 'leaking' in the toilet, only the the young officer standing there, smiling at me. Did I smile back, hell no !

Then, you could also get on, on the many GONDOLAS...that you could find almost all over Venice ! Too expensive for me... more travel advice

Although I have been to Venice twice, I will still go back. It is such a wonderful place and thanks for pictures. Gosh! You truely looked exhausted in the pictures. :)
I might be here soon, ... but i'll try not to divorce when i return to Lisbon! :-)
I didn't get to see Lido (except for a water taxi stop) maybe next time.
Going back to Italy for third time Oct. 15,but first time in Venice. Thanks for beautiful photographs to help get me inspired.
Hope to see more soon.
