Another Structure in.... Piazza delle Erbe Review

This is another structure that can be found on Piazza delle Erbe.

Madonna Verona fountain in Verona - Verona

Madonna Verona fountain in Verona

The Symbol of Verona... Piazza delle Erbe Review

The fountain almost in the middle of the Piazza delle Erbe is known as the symbol of Verona.
Orginally it had lost the head & the arms.
The Madonna Verona fountain was the added work of Cansignorio, in 1368.
She holds a small banner that reads :

I Want Justice & I Bring Peace.

Directions: Around Piazza delle Erbe.

Piazza delle Erbe in Verona

Next Is Piazza delle Erbe.... Piazza delle Erbe Review

Next, we could see Piazza delle Erbe.
Originally a site of a Roman forum, it remains the lively heart of the city.
It looks so old as if the world hasn't changed for the last 6 or 7 centuries !
Although there are some nice restaurants & shops around the area, the area is still intact with all the old buildings/monuments that we could see around it.

Arco della Costa... Piazza delle Erbe Review

Separating Piazza delle Erbe & Piazza dei Signori, we can see the Arco della Costa, or also known as Costa Arch.
The story goes....
The Legend says that it would fall on the first 'normal' person who walks underneath it !
So, if you think you are normal, walk underneath it & it would fall.
I didn't walk underneath it.....okay, I did ! Nothing happened.

Tower Lamberti... Piazza dei Signori - Piazza Dante Review

Another view of Lamberti Tower. It's from the 12th century.
The tower was originally built by tufa & brick in 1172. It was built in stages when finally completed between 1448 & 1464; I didn't manage to go up the tower but I managed to capture the tower from the ground.

Tower Lamberti... Piazza dei Signori - Piazza Dante Review

As I entered Piazza dei Signori, I saw this tower; Called Torre dei Lamberti or Lamberti Tower...
The octagonal top of this tower still holds the old Rengo & Marangona bells...
Shall we come closer to the tower...

Explaination :
Rengo : The bell to summon the Council and the people to a meeting.
Marangona : The bell to warn people in case of fire !
