INFORMATION...

Karnak is about 2.5 km north, from central Luxor.
It covers nearly 100 acres which comprises of a few precints but the most visted is :
The Precint Of Ammun
In the Temple of Ammun alone, there are lots of ruins to see, namely :
The Temple Of Ramses III
The Great Hypostyle Hall
The Jubiless temple Of Tuthmosis III
The Sacred Lake
Plus, The Sanctuary, The Pylons & The Obelisks !
All these were dedicated to The Theban Gods !
Everything here is gigantic in sizes.
During the height of Theban power, Karnak was the most important place of worship & was also called as The Most Perfect Among Places !
Almost everything in this precint has been added, rebuilt, restored & dismantled in the period of 1500 years.
The Precint of Amun bears stamps of many rulers, spanning through 13 centuries of ancient history.
Depending on which time of the day or year that you are here, please bring a hat & a bottle of mineral water so that the heat won't get you.
Otherwise, there's a small restaurant by The Sacred Lake where you can sit down & chill out a bit with some other people.
Some sights not to be missed around
Amun Temple Enclosure are :
The Great Hypostyle Hall
The Great Court
The Great Festival Hall of Tuthmosis III
The Inner Temple

If time permitting, you can wander around :
Mut Temple Enclosure

, as well...
The name Karnak comes from the nearby village of El-Karnak.
In the evening, there would 'Sound & Light' shows in this temple. The schedules per day alternate between English, French, German, Japanese, Italian, Spanish languages.
So, it's best to check your language of preference if you are interested to watch it.
Karnak Temple is BEST reached when you are in Luxor ! Either walk or take a taxi to reach Temple Of Kanak...
It's also within a walking distance if you stay at Hilton Luxor !
