Night Scene...

On The First Night...
No, I didn't check any club or bar when I was in Aleppo; I didn't care about that.
I took some photos of the night scenes around Aleppo.
This area is from my hotel towards The Old Town. It's a lively atmosphere...
Just be extra careful when you cross the streets (during the day, it's worst !), it could take ages !

Fruits Stalls...

This is nice ! There are fruits stalls opened around Aleppo, leading to The Old Town.
People were just hanging there, buying fruits or eating fruits...
The fruits are cheap but I just walked pass them.
I couldn't wander too far because I would be meeting Mohammed near The Museum, which is near to my hotel.
So, you could see the photos I took before the argument with Mohammed & Co !

Street Vendors...

In this area, we can also see some street vendors selling all kind of stuffs, from simple accessories (such as rings, combs, hairpins...) to err, soft-core photos !
This is so like in & around Kuala Lumpur ! (Chuckle !)
It's nice to have a scene like this to remind me of home !

Night Shopping...

This area as also the above photo, was taken along a street called Bab Al-Faraj; We wouldn't miss it because of The Clock Tower.
On the photo, we could see some shops opened at night where we could buy souvenirs & stuffs.

Water Pipes...

One of the famous souvenirs to bring back from Aleppo or maybe from The Middle East is naglijeh or narjileh...so many spelling versions but we know them by just The Water Pipes !
I had the chance to smoke from the water pipe when I was in Beirut !
Did I like it ?
Err, it's different !
Smoking the water pipes is the favourite past time of men (younf men & old men...) around The Middle East !
So, as a souvenir, why don't you bring one back !
No, I didn't buy any...

The Clock Tower...

This clock tower is situated in the roundabout of Bab Al-Faraj; You wouldn't miss it.
It's also could be a landmark on the way to The Aleppo Citadel.
It was here that I met Mohammed during that day...

Along Maary Street...

After taking the photo of The Clock Tower above, I walked towards The Museum.
Walking along Maary Street, there would be more shops along the way.
Maary Street is just near my hotel.
Notice the traffic ?
Quite heavy, not easy to cross the street !

Next To The Museum...

Unfortunately, the museum was not lit on that night !
So, it's pointless for me to take the photo of the museum.
Instead, I cross the road to reach to the opposite side where there's a public park...

Public Park...

Actually there are a few 'public parks' in this area alone ! They are not a big park combined together but rather small parks intersect by roads with heavy traffics !
In one of the parks, I managed to capture this fountain.
Very colourful & nice ! There are benches with people sitting down, talking, laughing...Children playing around; Lovers walking side by side. Nice atmosphere really.

The Great Mosque...

On The Second Night...
These photos below were taken by me as Assad & his brother accompanied me back to my hotel from their house.
As I was with them for 5 hours, & it was nearly 11 pm, I didn't have the time to capture more night photos around Aleppo.
We walked pass The Great Mosque but it was in a state of renovation...sadly.
This mosque was started by Kaliph Al-Walid who also founded The Umayyad Mosque in Damascus !
This mosque in Aleppo was completed by his successor Kalip Suleiman...
Nevertheless this mosque has been rebuilt again & again along the centuries !
It looks that it is BEING re-built again yes ?
