Nightlife Spot: Eiffel Tower
Seeing Eiffel Tower at night was nice ! This is Paris landmark that you don't really want to miss !
Infos :
Height: 300.51 meters
1st level - 57 meters
2nd level - 115 meters
3rd level - 276 meters
Height including television antenna: 320.755 meters (1052 feet).
This photo was my first sight of the tower with Alain walking next to me...on the first night in Paris !

Nightlife Spot: Eiffel Tower
Closer on the tower.
It is brightly lit with all the glittering lights !
Alain was telling me that the lights were changed every year to make a different photo every time tourists coming to see the tower.
Year lighting added contributing to Paris' reputation as 'City of Lights' in 1986.
There are 352 projectors of 1000 watts to flow electricity to the whole tower !

Closer on the tower.
Infos :
Built in the years 1887-1889 for 1889 Universal Exhibition and Centennial of the French Revolution.
The engineers were Maurice Koechlin and Emile Nouguier.
The architect was Stephen Sauvestre.
The tower originally was for the occasion of the 1889 Universal Exhibition.
Construction Period was from 23 January 1887 to March 1889 (2 years, 2 months & 5 days).
It was inaugurated on March 31, 1889.

Nightlife Spot: Eiffel Tower
Closer on the tower.
Infos :
The weight is 7,000 tons although 1,000 tons were removed during 1990's renovation.
The base is 412 feet square, roughly about 2.5 acres.
It's a great feeling for me of course to see Le Tour Eiffel with my own eyes although prior to reaching Paris, I thought it was just another tourist trap ! It is not...

Nightlife Spot: Eiffel Tower
Here I was at the base of the tower ! Well, almost.
There were too many people, at that time when me & Alain were there around 11 pm.
The tourists, the local people, the students, the couples all mingle together underneath the Tour Eiffel. Is that suppose to be romantic underneath The Eiffel Tour ? Well, you have to be there to decide.
I decided not to go up the tower because we just didn't have enough time to explore the area better.

Nightlife Spot: Moulin Rouge !
Okay, from this photo onward, I was walking with Patrick on our last night in Paris...The photos that I present here are taken chronologically as me & Patrick were walking from our hotel in Montmartre area & the first photo that I took was...the world famous Moulin Rouge ! No...we didn't go in the place, too expensive ! We walked infront of it; Even this would make my trip worth thinking about !
Apart from the windmill which is part of the original building, everything else is re-built & built all through the years.

Nightlife Spot: Moulin Rouge !
Another photo of Moulin Rouge ! There were not that many people in front of the place when I was there...maybe the show was already started !
The location itself is not that attractive; I mean it's not really cater for family-oriented sight-seeing or is it ?
It is in The Red Light district of Paris !
You walked around this area & you could see all the sex shops with men luring you to take a peek of the 'international' girls on display...
It was really funny, seeing the Arab men, dressed very smart...saying, "Girls ! Just Look...Just Look !"
I wanted to look but then I was thinking that somebody might push me in further & further...& FURTHER !

Nightlife Spot: Montmartre & Pigalle...
Montmartre & Pigalle...are 2 areas sit next to each other.
Adult entertainments aplenty in this area ! Nightclubs, sex clubs...sex shops, take your pick !
Oh yes ! I entered some of the sex shops, love looking at the sex videos on display ! Patrick prohibited me at some points, "It's a dangerous place !"
Did I buy anything ? I didn't ! The Red District area here in KL, called Petaling Street has more varieties !

Nightlife Spot: Montmartre & Pigalle...
If Montmatre could only offer us the sex stuffs, that would be so boring ! Me & Patrick walked further, we wanted to see Sacre Coeur at night !
Hours earlier, me & Alain went to this place & took many photos ! So, it's time for me & Patrick to venture to this place again...
The Church of Sacre Coeur sits on a hill...On this photo, you can see a bit of the carrousel at the bottom of the hill which during the day attracts kids & adults, a busy place indeed !
At night, it's more quiet & so atmospheric...

Oscar Wilde & Guy de Maupassant were 2 writers who HATED the tower! Both essentially said they'd climb because that was the only way not to see it - LOL! But I think la Tour Eiffel is tres jolie. :) | diosh Fri Oct 14, 2005 19:39 UTC
