I started my 2nd trip to Europe in Austria, or rather Vienna.
Originally I wanted to start this journey in Budapest but after planning & getting advises from many people, I opted Vienna simply because there's a flight dirctly from KL to Vienna...Lauda Air.
The first time I opened a guidebook on Austria, I knew this would be an elegant place ! So many places to see in this small country I thought !
I started to get in touch with people on the Net, whose advises absorbed by me little by little.
They did advice me that I should discover more on Austria than going to the nearby countries...
This I didn't follow their advise !
I dunno, maybe I thought Austria would be like 'big city' types that I always want to avoid in my travels...
I was wrong of course, after I came back from this trip !
Instead I chose to neglect big aspects of Austria & seeked my 'joie de vive' in nearby countries...
At least I arrived myself around Vienna (Wienerwald, Danube Valley ...also known as Wachau) & Salzburg of course !
These places make me want to come back & meet the people who had showed me the true meaning of being 'elegant' in Austria !

9th May 2002 : VIENNA, WACHAU AREA (I started the journey circling The Danube Valley from Wienerwald )...
10th : VIENNA...
11th : SALZBURG...
12th : BRATISLAVA in Slovakia...
Continue with this journey...6th June 2002 : VIENNA (coming back from BRNO in Czech Republic, a night sleep in Vienna)...
7th : BUDAPEST in Hungary...
11 days in HUNGARY...17th June : VIENNA (back from Budapest)...
20th June 2002 : FLY HOME TO KUALA LUMPUR...

SUMMARY......

May 2002. My 2nd trip to Europe. First out of 6 countries. First day (Thursday), had an excursion to the Wiennerwald; Danube Valley : (in this order) Klosterneuburg, Tulln, Durnstein, Krems & Melk.
3rd day (Saturday) went to Salzburg (a day trip). Stayed 4 days total in Vienna.
Monday left for Bratislava, Slovakia.
I would come back to Vienna again (one night sleep) from Brno (Czech Republic) to go to Budapest (Hungary).

While in Austria....I discovered Egon Schiele paintings along the way...

Cons:Could Never Cover Everything in ONE Trip !...
