Not in everywhere in KL. So, you don't have to worry much. Be extra careful when you are in Puduraya Bus Station. This is the main bus station which you can find buses to various destinations throughout Peninsula Malaysia. Thefts & pick-pockets are rife in this area. Although the police kiosk is just near the entrance, the police is more than helpful to give you the directions as to where to purchase your bus tickets than actually helping you if you have lost belongings. Please keep your luggage & personal belongings intact to you.

Normally the complaint would be 'No Toilet Paper' & some toilets are just plain dirty & unkept. If you use the public toilet in KL. If you must 'go', do so in shopping complexes. You can also use the toilet is restaurants. Ask for permission. They'll let you use it without any charge whatsoever.

Drugs: Do Not Do Drugs...

My very good advice. DO NOT DO DRUGS IN KL. Drugs are very easy to get here. If you go out at night, in some clubs some guys would offer you easily. My advice, do not do drugs here ! It's always that foreigners like to have things easily getting in their own countries, here in Malaysia. Girls, drugs....easy. True ? If you are caught while the drugs are already in your body system, then you will be prohibited to enter Malaysia. If you are caught while the drugs are still intact to your body, in your pockets, in your car, in your house etc (you get the idea), you will get the death penalty. No argument. You have been warned. The choice, as people like to say "Is Yours !".

This has been written in many pages on VT. It's very true that be careful with taxi drivers who overcharge the passengers. This does not just happen to foreign visitors but to local people like me as well. In Malaysia, we call these taxi drivers as maggots ! Maggots like to trick passengers by telling them that such & such roads would be high on traffics, so they would take a different routes. Hence, we would pay more than we should. Another trick is to turn off the taxi meter if we are not looking, so we wouldn't how much exactly to pay when we reach our destination. Another trick is asking us to pay extra when they are not going to your direction, at least they would quote the price first & we are obliged to say no. Normally, passengers would still say yes if the taxis are not easy to get. The maggots are everwhere. At the KL Airport; at the Puduraya Bus Station; even sometimes at the taxi stops. We can flag a cab by the road side. Tell him your direction & please say "Using Meter". Sit at the front !

Nothing's changed ! Certain roads, certain highways, certain hours; we are easily caught in traffic jams in KL. Peak hours are normally from 5 pm to 7 pm. After office hours we call it here. Sometimes it could last till 8 or 9 pm. Yes, it's that crazy ! Sometimes, it could start as earlier as 4 pm. Plan your time or maybe share a car (car-pooling) going to work or out from work. Maybe the best way is to park your car somewhere near the LRT station (metros) & go to work or do your sightseeings part by car & part by metros. The photo shows trafiic jams in a housing area..

The trafiic jams also occur in the city areas ! It always seems that Malaysian government is doing the best to prevent this from happening but still, there are trafiic jams ! Now the photos shows trafiic jams in city centre, taken near Puduraya Bus Station...

Reckless drivers or motorcyclists, they are seen everyday on the roads in Malaysia. Pray to God that we won't ever be like them. They like to be cursed & we should do that on them. Most of the times, accidents happened not caused by us but by other reckless people on the roads. Do you want to suffer & die because of other people ?

That's right. Unpredictable weather. Sometimes, it's hot & sunny in the morning, it would rain very heavy in the evening. Sometimes it rains in the morning, it would create a flood by the same day's evening ! Plan yourself carefully when travelling in this part of the world. To us here, the weather affects us in many ways. We like to blame the weather if we don't feel like going to work. We like to blame the weather if we have a bad sex life !
