MY NEXT TRIP...
Came early this year, I slimmed down the list of countries that I wanted to see this year to 3 choices.
To keep a long story short, I got my ticket to one of the 3 choices today !

14th March 2008 :
Took my off day today, woke up at 8 am. Too early for me.
Wanted to take a cab to PWTC (Putra World Trade Centre, where the MATTA Fair would be held).
This would be the first time I'm buying my flight ticket at MATTA Fair.
Arrived at PWTC at 9.30 am, could see people (not packed) lining up.
I didn't know that there's an entrance fee.
RM 3 (about USD 1).
The door was opened at 10 am sharp.
I got my map but too confusing !
Laid out in 3 huge halls.
I started to search for my ticket to buy.
Some people could spend hours searching for the beast deals.
Not me.
I just wanted to get my ticket & off from there.
I could see groups of women (old & young) giggling their ways from kiosk to kiosk; I could see old men looking up & writing some notes; Staffs handling out flyers...& the halls were not that packed !
12 pm, I was still searching.
The halls started to fill with more & more people.
I was circling the halls so many times, even had times to smoke twice in the toilet !
I finally settled on ONE destination & it's in Central Asia.
The destination that I was looking for was not on any promotional prices.
I actually asked myself why did I bother to wake up early to come here !
Approached a booth, asking for a ticket to that destination. I was not ignored by the girl but there were too many other customers waiting that she seemed lost ! The price that she quoted me RM 2500.
Too expensive I thought.
Fled that booth.
Went to another booth & this time the guy there took ages to check on the best deal that he could give me & finally came up with RM 14,000 !!!
Clearly this M.O.T.H.E.R.F.U.C.K.E.R didn't belong there !!
He's supposed to sell cheap tickets !
I kept on searching. Came to another booth & the girl there managed to get me RM 2400 but she couldn't find the right date of me returning back...
Like all the dates were fully booked !
She thought that was weird !
But she didn't tell me why she thought so.
I had my presumption for this; Read on will ya !
I asked her to check the dates for me retuning back in July but she said the MATTA Fair promotional tickets for that particular airline was valid until 1st July.
I was really disappointed. Meaning I couldn't get my ticket back on the specific date.
I thanked her & walked away.
I was tired to search & decided that I might just get the ticket at the respected airline instead. Meaning I have to pay more.
I was going to walk out from the big hall when I was approached by a guy & asked me where I wanted to go.
I mentioned to him the country & he said it's not on any promotional fair list but instead led me to a table where a girl was willingly checking if she could get me the cheapest ticket to that country. |
I had to go through the whole process again.
This time, the price that she quoted was RM 2175 ! That was excellent !
I didn't tell her my experience from the previous booth but she also encountered that all the returning dates were fully booked !
She thought that was weird but it didn't show on her face.
She then talked to her supervisor & came back to me.
She said that she would call up the airline to inquire about this matter.
She came back & told me that the airline asked my departure & returning dates.
I mentioned to her & she's on the phone again.
10 minutes later she came back to me with a big smile on her face !
Everything was sorted !
The dates of going & returning were confirmed !
The price was RM 2175 including all the taxes !
EXCELLENT !
I even exclaimed, "SET !"
I paid the price in cash money & the girl just smiled.
Out from the big halls & took the bus home & it rained like cats & dogs dropping from the sky...

Collected my ticket at the travel agent's office. Felt good.
Next would be the visa. |

WHY I TRAVEL ?
Hi girls & boys !
TRAVEL started as an afterthought for me !
Some time in early 2001, I called up a friend, dragontml ( I call her Leng or Marleen, depends on my mood...& she also introduced me to VT ! ) & told her that finally I wanted to TRAVEL !
There was a long silence from her on the phone line..."Hellooooo ?!", I retorted back.
She couldn't believe what I just said ! Actually all my friends, local & abroad couldn't believe what I said !
Well, on my part I got pi**ed & annoyed pouring money into something that I didn't get !
I was/am a music lover, y'see...
I spent way too much money bidding/buying music from the Net.
I was years on ebay.com, bidding this & that...Paid the money but sometimes I didn't get what I paid for ! Especially the CDs that I really really wanted to own.
I was thinking maybe I should do something else with my money...
Then, on that night...I was looking at my CD/vinyl collections & "Gosh ! I Do Have Tons Of Stuffs !"; But I hardly listen to them, just stacking one CD/vinyl after another...till they would be as high at The Twin Towers in KL ! (Well, so to speak...).
Again, I was thinking maybe I should do something else with my money...
The word 'TRAVEL' just snapped in my head & I called my friend above.
Now you know ! Not that you want to know anyway...
SO ! Where to go ?
It's not that important but I said to myself that if I really want to TRAVEL, I would give these 3 things to be the first & foremost :
HISTORY
SCENERY
FUN...BIG TIME ! (small time is okay too...)~*~*~*~*~6 years I have been travelling now (MORE than 20 countries ! Like WOW !), took lots of photos (nearly 3000 plus !); Still I was just barely contented ! I want to take the best photos ! I want to take much much better night photos !
October 2003, I bought myself a digital camera (ask me & I'll tell you what brand !) & I am so happy as it has made me to explore more places in my own backyards ! Didn't really bother before that...
Been snapping & snapping & learning how to make good photos...nevertheless I would call myself an amateur when it comes to photo taking.
(....And ask me which is the best AA batteries to continuously taking up to 200 photos at high resolutions !).
