Intro to the "Northern Rome" (Balsac said) Kyiv (Kiev) Is a big ancient city, capital of Ukraine. Situated on the hills, near one of the largest rivers, Dnipro, it gives the excellent views and landscapes, especially when looking down from right side of the river. It was founded more then 1500 years ago, by Polian dukes-brothers Kiy, Stchek and Khoriv together with their syster Lybid. The name of the city originates from the name of the oldest brother Kiy. During 1500 years, citie's history has survived the domination of different regimes, the traces of which can be found in it's picturesque and impressive architecture. The best way of course is to come and see. To list everything, it can take hours. What else can I say ? Wherever in the world I am, I'll never forget who I am and where I'm from. This is my homecity, my life, my love, my addict,,, no matter how it is called. Ukraine still seems to be quite far-off country but tourists coming here, are impressed. Frankly, I've never met anyone who did not like. So welcome:) |
| Chestnuts are bloomy again (song) | Kyiv - garden cityKyiv is one of the 'greenest' cities in the world. It has plenty of parks, gardens, trees are everywhere. The symbol of Kyiv is chestnut, favourite tree of kyivans. |
