Budapest
Has a long and very interesting history.
The first notions come to the 1st century, Celtic period. The celtic settlement Ak Inq, which became Acuincum later, during the Roman empire period.
Then city survived the domination of Gothes, Ostrogothes, Hunnes, Tatars, until the Hungarian state was founded. City also survived Turkish occupation, during about 150 years. Then, a long period of Austrian-Hungarian empire, when Hungarians wanted always to regain their independance.
Now it is a big important European city, attracting tourists by its beauty and businessmen by its favourable economic situation.

How the city name appeared?

Origin of Budapest
The name of the city originates from names of 3 towns that joined to each other and formed together the Hungarian capital.
BUDA + OBUDA + PEST.
