Arriving Kunming by train, finally, from Hong Kong on 04Sep2003, the day after Typhoon signal no. 9 hosted in Hong Kong.
Unexpectedly, Kunming is another fast developing city in China, not as much natural reserved as I thought.
Not much tourist travelling in Kunming during this week, so, I can easily get a dorm bed at Camiilla Hotel. Very clean and confortable, much better than I expected. Only encountered a little problem when I called, speaking Mandarine, then I found out mainland tourists are actually not welcomed to stay in their youth hotel dorm.
Slept early on first night, couldn't sleep well on the 30-hour train. I was trying to wake up the next morning to visit Stone Forest but I miised it. 2 times!!! Just being too lazy to wake up!

Bought a ticket at going to Dali this afternoon at 3pm. Not much to see in Kunming anyway. Hope to get up to North-West countryside as soon as possible.

enjoying the memories with your pages thanks!the birdmarket in kunming is also good.i went by o/night bus to Dali from Kunming.and loved it esp Lijiang!shouldve gone to Xishuangbanna tho!next time...!!
